About UsWe provide an all-inclusive solution for rental properties that is unmatched in the industry. Our competent and courteous business office staff and rehabilitation crews look forward to giving our customers, clients, and properties the care that they deserve.
Our mission is to provide safe, affordable, clean, high quality and well-maintained rental properties to qualified tenants in the West Michigan area.
We believe our business exists because we have been blessed by God. It is our duty and privilege to be good stewards of this responsibility by holding true to the “Golden Rule” expressed by Jesus many years ago in the Bible. He gave us two commandments. First; “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind...” and second; “…love your neighbor as yourself.” Those are the words by which we live. We strive to treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. This means we care about everyone who comes in contact with the Beckett Group and we strive to treat people with the utmost respect, honor and professional service. We stand behind the ideal of making other people successful. We seek to build long-term relationships with our clients, our tenants and our community.
The Beckett Family
Mike Beckett began working for his father, Jack, at Beckett Insurance in 1973, when Mike was only 19 years old. He and Robin married in 1974 and the Lord blessed them with nine wonderful children, five sons and four daughters.
In 1986 the Beckett joined with Lou Buffham and Bill Worst, who had started their business back in 1953. Thus began the BWB Agency (Buffham, Worst and Beckett). This company provided services in personal insurance lines until 1995. Although Jack Beckett passed away in 2005, his legacy and work ethic are actively practiced throughout the company today.
After 28 years in the insurance business, Mike and Robin began praying about the possibility of developing a family business that could involve each member of their large family. God answered their prayer by providing an opportunity to buy a multi-unit property. In 2000 the Becketts purchased their first rental property; a two-unit with a spare lot across from Maranatha Bible Conference in Muskegon. The first rehab property they purchased was 215 Hastings NE. Today, Beckett Family Rentals manages over 300 units in the Greater Grand Rapids area. For the first seven years, seven of the kids assisted with the rental business. In the past year the two oldest sons have also joined the company. The Becketts thoroughly enjoy working as a family. Each individual brings to the business his or her individual gifts and talents, enhancing each area of the company. Robin Beckett manages the rental office, making sure that tenants are well taken care of, and that the office functions as efficiently as possible. The rehab crews are run by Mike Jr, Jordan, Luke and Adam. Josh helps manage Beckett Investments and is in charge of purchasing the real estate for Beckett Family Rentals. The leasing portion is headed up by Angie. Anna helps run Anna’s House Restaurant (owned by Josh Beckett) and helps with administration of Beckett Investments. The two youngest Becketts, Amy and Naomi, help part-time in the office and assist with the painting of remodeled homes. Every family member uses his or her unique strengths to complements each other and contribute to the excellence of Beckett family businesses.

This past year the family started Beckett Investments, which provides an exciting opportunity for investors to capitalize on the success of the Beckett family’s real estate and rental property expertise.
Beckett Family Rentals and Beckett Investments continue to pursue the purchase of foreclosed properties to add to our inventory. We rehab those homes and then rent out the properties. The Becketts also developed a program called “Pathway to Home Ownership,” which is helping struggling families purchase homes on land contract with short-term financing.
The future looks bright for the Beckett family, its clients, tenants and investing partners. The family continues to give glory to God for the opportunity to serve the community together.
